The Woods Fund in 2001 awarded a $6,000 grant to Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ, headed by his now ex-pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.....The fund also used Northern Trust for financial services, which is the same company that provided Obama his 2005 mortgage. the Obamas' financed their upscale Hyde Park home in 2005 through a mortgage with Northern Trust and obtained a better than average mortgage rate. Coincidentally, Woods Fund had started using Northern Trust investment services a couple of years earlier.
just a few examples from the article of Obama as a typical old style South Chicago, Mayor Daley, Tammany Hall Democratic Party machine style politician along with all the greed, graft, corruption, bribes, kickbacks and patronage associated with it. Interesting article. Nothing new here, certainly no change you can believe in.

A lot of "maybes," "could bes" and "might haves." We can call it fact-lite. The Woods Fund did nothing improper, nor did Obama. The Repugnant Cons must be running scared thinking their dirty laundry might come to light under a president who believes in the rule of law and the constution.

not change you can believe in is it.......another run of the mill ORDINARY politician.........nothing special here........he is certainly not above the day in and day out workings of the Chicago political machine is he.......all I see posted by his supporters is how honorable, trustworthy he is......that is not the case...............

One interesting investment Woods Fund made was to purchase shares of Countrywide Financial Corporation stock in 2005. As of 2006, the investment was worth $382,000. At the end of 2006, the stock was selling at $42.50. Today it is $4.25 after the sub prime mortgage fiasco.

Another crook in the line up, Chris Dodd, king of the bloviating boobs. Dodd is the first one on the news shows to spew class warfare. He operates on fear politics by instigating hatred between the classes and the parties. The division the politicians keep between rich, poor, republicans, democrats and independents is how fat cat politicians like Dodd stay in power and grow in wealth, while we bare the bulk of the tax burdens.

Obama is a machine politician who hasn't ben scrubbed by the media.This kind of patronage goes on all the time in big cite Dem controlled circles.Kickbacks,bribes and wheel greasing is as normal as breathing for these people.Rezko makes Abramhoff look like a choir boy.

They are all the same, corrupt Chicago politicians, and they take care of their own. Grants for TUCC. A soft job for Obama's friend William Ayers, one of the Domestic bombers. There was money for ACORN to provide voter registrations for vote fraud later. I don't understand how the Democrats think we would not check this very corrupt Chicago politician out before the November election. I think it was like Sen Biden said earlier, he is clean looking, and articulate, and they just never vetted him.

which is why charges were filed with the Senate Ethics Committee against him concerning his dealing with Northern Trust, the home loan he received, and the subsequent millions in investment capital he steered towards Northern Trust AFTER he received his sweetheart loan........his campaign tried to spin the loan and the monies steered towards Northern Trust as "competition for business" which translates to a euphemism for and a tacit admission of "quid pro quo". His campaign staff was actually STUPID enough to admit to it.........UNBELIEVABLE, and face it people you have been had..........

Again, was Bush any different? Why aren't you railing against his sweetheart deals. What about his putting people who are obviously unqualified into high level service positions that in some cases (or one really big one) caused a lot of American citizens to lose their lives? Why does he get a free ride when you obviously are against classism and cronieism?

That doesn't mention Bush at all. That link talks about the Clintons. I want to hear you comment on Bush's sweetheart deals. I want to hear you defend his putting people in top offices who had no business being there and then causing the deaths of hundreds through their incompetence. I want to hear you defend it. Not by saying "Clinton did it so it's okay for Bush to do it too." Because Clinton was no where near as secretive as Bush has been.
Defend his right to not have to tell us who came to the our White House and bought his favor.

It is not unusual for banking/lending institutions to favor certain individuals over others esp if the individual in question can 'repay the favor' with a sweet 'political consideration' ,which in short equals the passage of laws favorable to certain money/financial institutions while in office. This is one of many methods that politicians can and often do use to gain political leverage and monetary wealth while in office.
Is this fair? No but why should it be. For America runs on 'big and fast money' which means only certain individuals, like politicians and etc, can make that happen.
Fairness is a fairy tale mantra that politicians use as a way to placate the masses.
Is OBama different than the other politicians? Well no.
Is he the candidate of change? No.
Has OBama, because he is a major politician, been given special 'personal money considerations' over other individuals of equal and lesser financial means? Probably so.
