There's real potential for damage when the manure is liquefied, and then sprayed as fertilizer onto the company's fields.

Robert Kennedy Jr. wrote about this problem in his book 'Crimes Against Nature'. He quoted the hogs as having 10 the amount of waste as humans.
I'm just curious as to whether this could be the source of salmonella outbreaks.

There are environmental laws demanding that the waste be treated before it's sprayed on the crop fields---it's not being treated.
