Forcing entire populations to pay for the acts of groups of terrorists has developed more and more that are sympathetic to their cause. We have to come up with a new idea that breaks the loop of terror and aggression on both sides.

> Forcing entire populations to pay for the acts of groups of terrorists...
Unfortunately, neither Israel not any other state on this planet has magic weapons able to separate terrorists from their cheering supporters.
If you DO KNOW the secret of this wonderful magic weapon and refuse to share it with the Israeli military authorities it's YOUR fault that the 'entire populations are forced to pay for the acts of groups of terrorists' they cherish and support.
If, however, you DO NOT KNOW the secret of the terrorist selecting weapon it means that THE BEST anti-terrorist weapons you know are already being used by the Israelis.
It makes little sense to complain that THE BEST is not good enough.
The simple truth is that as long as the 'entire populations' protect, cheer and support terrorist groups they will continue harvesting the results.

Actually after 9-11 a lot of Arab states condemned the terrorists. We actually had most of the world on our side. We exclusively held the status as "victim". Then we invaded Iraq, in our quest to rid the world of terrorism. That's when they regained world sympathy. If not directly, but indirectly, by the amount of casualties we inflicted on civilian populations. The true way, IMHO, to fight terrorism is with small paramilitary groups to infiltrate and attack the planners of terrorist plots. It would have to be multinational and intelligence would have to pass muster as to the legitimacy. No country should be able to collectively punish an entire country for the actions of a few radicals.

The simple truth is that as long as those of us in the west, the Americans in particular, cheer and support their invading armies they will continue to harvest the results. What happens in those other countries is none of our business. How would you feel if you had an invading force trying to tell you what to do and how to think, while at the same time attempting to steal your natural resources.

Hamas is to some degree a creation of Israel's Likkuds -

They wanted a religious extremist group to split popular support for the PLO.

Please stop with the links. Counterpunch, Antiwar, etc. have as much credibility as the man in the moon. The only thing that you do by using these irresponsible web publications is showing that you aren't too bright. Most of us have already realized that these "news publications" are garbage. Give it up. You just make yourself look very ignorant.

1. There is no "terror and aggression" on BOTH sides.
2. When terrorists hide among civilians, civilians will die.
I have no term for the intellectual, moral and philosophical coward who would blame those civilian casualties on the army charged with protecting its own civilians against said terrorists.

There remains the problem that this story speaks to. As long as people and governments hold these ideas, what's to distinguish "us" from "them"? When we were attacked on 911 it was an attack on civilians to punish the government of the U.S. This kind of thing just enflames the attitudes of the public. That's why we retaliated. First in Afghanistan, then in Iraq. As civilians died on their side we enflamed the same passions on their side that we felt when our civilians were attacked.

There is no possible way for me to interpret Israels denial of health care for a baby girl, than to think they don't want peace. But then, of course, this is only one instance, right? If I went looking, I wouldn't find more, right? Obviously, something is very wrong.

It seems to me that it's not Israel who is responsible for the health care of Palestinian Arabs but their own democratically elected Palestinian Goverment. If this government was willing to do its job (take care of its own citizens) it would recognize Israel, ask for peace negotiations, negotiate a peace agreement and got peace and its fruits (including Israeli assistance in health care) as a result.
Israel already recognized each and every Arab state including the (still non-existent Arab Palestinian state) back in 1948. Palestinians are 60 years late...
> Obviously, something is very wrong.
Yes, it's your denial to recognize the responsibility of the Palestinian leaders for peace and welfare of its own Palestinian people.

How do you interpret Israeli doctors performing life-saving surgery on Palestinian children?
One girl dies, and you blame not Egyptian border security, through which terrorists commit no crimes against Egyptians, but rather through the Israeli border, through which nothing but horror passes for Israelis. You expect Israeli families to welcome terror with open arms so that mothers and children can be slaughtered...all so that one girl can live.
And then you expect us to take you seriously.

Not to welcome terror through their borders, but to realize there are hearts and mind to be won. Assisting this child and taking the political opportunity to show the world that Israel would do this in spite of Paestinian aggression can be benefecial to Israel's image.
