Posted by: bubba2 2 months, 2 weeks agoAn eight-month McClatchy investigation of the detention system created after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks has found that the U.S. imprisoned innocent men, subjected them to abuse, stripped them of their legal rights and allowed Islamic militants to turn the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay into a school for jihad.

Hey Bubba2 ~
Good article. I read it last Sunday and just this past week
I heard that McClatchy is in a financial bind.
I think they said they would not be able to maintain their
staff of investigative journalists.
I am sure some will be pleased with that developement -
might even sigh in relief. I was very disheartened,
especially after having read this report. I know newspapers
all over are having rough times but it just seemed like a
type of payback. Maybe their financial woes have been in the
making for a while - but then again this report did take 18
months of their time........plenty of time for opponents of
the truth getting out to mobilize.
