eco - One is feasible (a prison), the other is sci-fi (or are you going to attempt to claim that ALL the power companies & their workers in the entire US are "minions" of the Govt's secret service program ???). Don't you think someone in the power supply industry might just possibly notice a multi Gigawatt hit on their net (you know, the entire output of numerous power stations, and the cabling thereof) ????
Puhlease...... Don't insult my intelligence....
We won't even go into the engineering of the "site".....

Does DM have to provide his professional credentials/resume' before he engages his personal right as a member to offer an opinion Eco? Can you substantiate that this theory of you're post is true? Can you show us you're credentials then too? Sorry honey, but you are taking this a little bit too personal. Good story though I must say anyway, and thank you for it. I just don't see the feasibility of altering the weather to a drastic measure if true, then I guess this blows Al Gore's self supposition of 'global warming' then. Once again thanx.

Indeed, everyone DOES have an opinion, but some form their opinions based upon known facts, and others prefer to speculate according to what mood they are in, and ignore the facts of science.
Congratulations, ecotourusa. You have demonstrated here that you are not only scientifically naive, but stubborn and ill-tempered.

I wish I had my own rocket. I could become Rocketman and find a new planet.

my sentiment as well. but, it does not leave my mind's realm of possibility.
Interestingly enough, years ago I picked up a book: "Angels Don't Play This HAARP." (1995)by Jeane Manning and Dr. Nick Begich.
I will now read the book that sat on my shelves all these years.

I found this very interesting. A few years ago I did some research on the Pentagon's Black Budget. The Congress literally writes them a blank check. No one knows where this money goes. The same with the CIA. This is why they have been getting away with so much underground actions for so long. Our media keeps us nice and mesmerized with trivial garbage.

Despite the naysayers, Haarp is in fact a project that the military had hoped would yield some atmospheric advantages in battlefields, it is real (whether it does what people say or certainly whether it is responsible for tragedies is a leap of faith so to speak though-).

Agreed. Also makes one wonder what other programs have borne fruit.

Wow. I never heard of it before. Interesting stuff. I'm not sure I like anyone experimenting with EVERYONE's Ionosphere. It doesn't seem like a good idea. Like most things though, they can be used for good or evil. Will the US government weaponize HAARP. Yup, of course.
This is the official HAARP home page - all love and light. Stupid scientists. They invent stuff and never stop to think how their research will be used as weapons of destruction.
And a couple anti-HAARP sites-

Thanks Eco. I never heard of it before.

To my knowledge, HAARP was part of the cold war effort to disrupt the signals of missiles launched from Russia, which was put in place during "Reagan's Star Wars" time frame.
The legends of capabilities has continued to grow about HAARP during those twilight hours on the internet.

In the mid 1990's, some scientists/physicists expressed concern that HAARP could be an experiment in weaponry. It's a joint effort of the military and a handful of Universities, with the Universities setting the parameters, I read. Its cost soared above original estimates, partly because of its location in Alaska. Apparently the location was chosen for political reasons. (Republican pork).
At any rate, there is little to find that would in any way justify the claim of this video.

Sorry, nonsense stories like this have have been making the rounds for years.
The relatively miniscule amount of RF power used (3.6 MW) is dwarfed by the power of the Sun that beats down on the Earth every second. It is like spitting into the ocean and claiming that it can cause a tsunami.

Greetings All,
The video was interesting, and a bit unsettling. But: I would have preferred its being written down, with references.
It seemed strange that the person reading the script had problems with the vocabulary/pronunciation. Why not read through it a few times first?
The HAARP homepage does look innocuous. The Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Frequency_Act... was obviously written so as to avoid any "controversy". I found nothing immediately alarming in these pages, but I also saw nothing completely reassuring, either.
More investigation into what is actually happening is needed. Knee-jerk reactions--the gold standard of Today--don't work.
I know of no connection between HAARP and earthquakes. The frequency and power scales are too different.
Master Dave

The only book I am personally aware of is one that I found on my shelf. "Angels Don't Play This HAARP," by Jeane Manning and Dr. Nick Begich I will read it this weekend.
Popular Science claims that "...HAARP began to be revealed in Sept. of 1995."

Fits the definition of pseudoscience. More technobabble than technology. And, frankly, the narrator hurts the presentation with his uncorrected stumbles and stutters. And, he uses science fiction to try to substantiate this bogus idea.
Listen to this line, from 08:00,
"Earth's an electrical motor, when the motor began to run wild, it would increase its rotational speed. Eventually, the Earth would explode from increased centrifical stress."
If you can accept that example with an agreeing nod of the head, then this whole line of garbage is right up your alley.
