Limbaugh Busted: Uses 10th Grader's Essay To Attack Obama

Do No Evil – It's no secret that the right STILL hasn't figured out how to effectively use the internets, so it comes as no surprise that the Grand Poobah of right wing radio talkies , Rush Limbaugh, has made a complete fool of himself by using a 12 year old essay by a 10th grader to attack Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama.

Well, I guess he's met his match at last, in a high school sophomore...

The guy in question was Harvard Undergraduate Council President, although he apparently never learned how to spell "plagiarize" - just as the goof who wrote this "article" never learned how to spell "Internet."

LIBS:

"The guy in question was Harvard Undergraduate Council President"

Was he at Harvard when he wrote the essay?

LIBS:

"he apparently never learned how to spell 'plagiarize'"

Ah. So you're going to join Limbaugh in slamming a 10th grader's essay? How apropos.

LIBS:

"the goof who wrote this "article" never learned how to spell 'Internet.'"

Actually, the author of the article was deadpanning one of Bush's many inadvertent neologisms. It comes from Bush's responses in debates from 2000 and 2004.

Bush: "We can have filters on Internets where public money is spent."

http://www.debates.org/pages/trans2004c.html

Bush: "I hear there's rumors on the, uh, Internets."

Not much of a "gotcha" in my opinion.

Paul is a pretty smart kid and sourced his essay very well.

Trying to compare the times and circumstances of the two situations, plus claiming the same conditions caused both is absurd. The sub-prime debacle is a hiccup compared to what the country endured back then, although both were driven somewhat by greed and leverage.

I love it when Libs claim that "a friend was listening to Rush while he was in the car yesterday". LOL

simon, you got the greed and leverage (speculators) right - the repug led governemt got us into the Great Depression just the like the former Repug Congress and Dumya have gotten us into this one. Then add the Bush debt of 11 trillion when he leaves office... our grand children will never recover!

The Bush FEC in 2004 dropping the requirement for collateral to back up wall street transactions. The Repug congress passed the Bush energy bill that threw out all the anti-monopoly acts of the 1930s - so now you see those big oil commercials where they control yur whole energy market while they lie to you about investing in alternatives! Dumya's further signing statements to drop further governemt regulation ans protections... much more... such a long list when Dumya has politicized everything!

I just wanted to let everyone know that as of next week crooksandliars.com will be going back to their more common name of democrats.org.

...seems logical that 82% of Americans really know who the real crooks and liars are and want a change back to real American values and scrupples!

Tang and wolfie, terrible isn't it: someone revealing the further hypocrisy of one of your heros!

WHAT !! No comment on the limpbaughs' picture ??!?!?

...'a picture is worth a thousand words...."

The guy obviously tried the hiipie-turns-into-disco and was still ostracized from society so, he took the only path left to him....the toilet.

I wanted to make a comment here, but there's not much useful that can be said. So Rush did not agree w/ what a high school kid said. The essay was written in a time when it would be prudent to be critical of a prior Republican administration. That's how you get "A"'s. As for Rush being spared from being bombarded with liberal thinking if he had attended college, it might have done him some good, a more balanced view of the body politic. Some of my teachers in college were avowed and open socialists, especially in the political science department. Only someone with a weak mind and a lack of conviction would have been swayed by their rhetoric. What does this say for Rush's mind?? Hmmm?
