I agree with some of the article but not everything. I do think that children should play to win and not just play, losing is a chance to learn to practice more or try something else.
Last time I checked the US was still a haven of those who worship the almighty dollar over the welfare of the general public and a place where wealth is gleefully built on the backs of the poor.
Their chance is still negligible to those born with a silver spoon in their mouths. They have to be better and more tenacious than the priviledged. And usually turn out to be better people for it.

You tend to learn faster when you lose so it doesn't happen again, but only if there are winners.
If you don't want winners there are only losers.
