Do No Evil – DMX was arrested on Friday on suspicion of drug possession and animal cruelty after 2 searches of his home allegedly turned up weapons, drugs, dog carcasses and abused pit bulls. Said Sheriff Joe Arpaio: "With all his money and fame, DMX has no excuse for not providing proper care for his animals."
Yes, you WOULD think that after what happened with Michael Vick last year -- home was raided, over 50 pit bulls confiscated, dead carcasses found, then evidence that they electrocuted or otherwise abused dogs that "didn't perform", and now he is in prison - that others (famous or not) would "get it" and stay away from that disgusting practice.
But, I'm sure that DMX had that "only others get caught, not me" mentality. Wrong ...
Like Vick, I hope they throw the book at DMX and he gets the maximum punishment possible.
It's Band-Aids on bullet holes, if you ask me. People that feel inadequate or inferior often compensate or overcompensate for these feelings. Those with a Napolean complex will often buy shoes with lifts in them for a quick fix, at the very least. Or they may become the bullies themselves at worst. Even though voluntary, I do view such behaviors as less of an action and more of a reaction.
The easy way for some to attain power in our capitalist culture, if only in appearance, is with guns, bling, ho's and big mean dogs. In DMX's case, all of the above. There's a huge, huge difference between an excuse and a reason. That said, is such dispicable animal cruelty, in any possible way, right? I think not. Can I understand how these crimes continue to this day? Unfortunately, i think yes.
So you blame a "capitalist culture" and not the jerk allegedly doing the crime? The "society of victims" mentality strikes again!
I happen to know a little about DMX.
I know that he takes crack/cocaine to give himself a high and then percoset to bring himself down.
I know that he sometimes can't differentiate the roles he played in movies from reality-- that's a given the many times he was arrested for speeding and aggressive driving and many more charges (trust me, I know).
DMX is just a perpetual train wreck always waiting to happen.
not so fast, consRN'Tfunny. though a mean spirited kneejerk reaction has proven to be your speciality. in jamaica, the torture and murder of gays is celebrated in some forms of that island's most popular music. i could easily and simply hate them or i could and do stand back to see the forest despite the trees. jamaican slaves were sodomized by their white british colonial plantation owners in front of their other "possessions" to humiliate them and keep them sub-serviant. i chose to discover that their hatred/fear of all things gay is historically rooted. while this doesn't excuse such hate, knowing it's roots allows me to not simply brand an entire people as evil.
the blame is CLEARLY on the heads of these undeveloped, hateful perpetrators of these ongoing heinous crimes of animal cruelty. but, instead of simply lowering myself to their level, i choose to step back and see if there could be something bigger to this picture. try it sometime. it could make you less angry.

OK. What is it with the dog fighting? Doesn't anyone read or hear the news? DMX is a well known rapper. He should have people to tell him not to get involved with dog fighting even if he doesn't know any better. Didn't a football or basketball player just get busted for this not too long ago?
I have no sympathy. He should get jail time.
