After an intense public and private lobbying campaign, Blackwater appears to be back to business as usual. The chief reason for the company's survival? State Department officials said have any alternative to Blackwater. "We cannot operate without private security firms in Iraq, If the contractors were removed, we would have to leave Iraq."

May 10, 2008, 6:45 a.m.Found this pretty disturbing, we can't stay in Iraq or fight a war without contractors?(or as they used to be called, Mercenaries) How the hell did we fight ww2 and occupy Japan and Germany then?
Outsourcing at its very worst if you ask me.. Should be illegal. Were paying these guys $1500-$2k a day each, for a job a US Soldier does for 10% of that...
