Israel at 60 - a land of contradictions

Do No Evil – Israel's logo for its 60th anniversary harks back to the good old days - an innocent boy in shorts romping with a variation of the Israeli flag unfurling behind him. But you can't please everyone. One orthodox Jewish member of parliament trashed the symbol, saying the child looks "frumpy and should get a haircut."

Israel has survived in spite of the enemies who seek to destroy this legally created state. the Jewish occupants have a history of being there for thousands of years long before there would be the present conflict. It is the only democracy in the Middle East and has done miracles with the land it has. It created farms and greenery out of the Negev desert, it has some of the finest educational and research institutions in the world. Yet its neighbors wish to destroy it from nonprogressive misguided hate. Israel's enemies only hurt themselves in the long run by letting their hate overcome common sense. as Golda Meir said, 'When they love their children more than they hate Israel, there will be peace. Also, "If the Arabs lay down their guns there will be peace. If the Israelis lay down their guns, there will be a lot of dead Israelis

Here's an animated map of the Empires of the Middle East. You tell me the history of who owned that spot over time (I'll give you a hint - The Egyptians were there first, the Persians held it a very long time and the Jewish people held it for only a small amount of time):

I agree that Israel should absolutely exist and the Jews have every right to be there, but to always portray them as the innocent victim wears thin in light of their wars, attacks against neighbouring countries, illegal building and lack of adherence to just about every settlement or agreement made. Furthermore their imprisoning, relocating and encampment of the Palestinians is reminicent of Nazi Ghettos and they should know better.

First, Each and every war Israel was involved in was STARTED BY THE ARABS.

Second, how come building by the Arabs is "legal" while building by Jews is "illegal"? Racism anyone?

Third, can you list the settlements or agreements Israel violated but the Arabs adhered to? According to you there were plenty...

Can you elaborate on this one please? As far as I know there was no "imprisoning, relocating and encampment of the Palestinians" in Israel and there are no Ghettos in Israel... and yes, I definitely know better.

Well, the Arabs held it even less... so WHY some people continue to claim that all lands of Palestine are ARAB lands?

There are no "illegally created" states as there are no laws dictating the rules how states should be created. Most if not all states on this planet were created by wars and revolutions; Israel is no exception.

This being said, Israel is the ONLY state on Earth who's legality was confirmed (repeatedly) by the United Nations Resolutions.
