this is a darn shame. i'm all for a free tibet, but the ancient greek inspiration for creating the olympics was all about creating a competitive forum for warring nation-states to come together in peace (at least during the duration of the games), offering an opportunity to come to some mutual understanding and respect in the hopes of bringing about at least a few days of peace in a world of conflict. this is what i think the games should be about.
on the other hand, every protester has the right to do so (except in tibet & china).
