Cell phones have been around for 25 years and we still don't know. We'll never know. Why not - because you can't prove a negative. All that can be said is that after many tens of thousands of experiments there is no evidence that cell phones cause this condition or that. True, cell phones do warm human tissues but then so does the sun, campfires and even hot chocolate.

Ironic that a phone card company are the ones with the story. It has been said however that driving while talking on a cell phone is worse than driving drunk.

Saying it however doesn't make it true. If what we have now is a situation where a sizable percentage of the population is driving at least part of the time in a condition that is described as worse than drunk, what should we expect to have happened to our accident rate now as compared to before there were cellular phones. This is easy to do.

The truth is that accidents have dropped by over 40% on a per million miles driven basis compared to 1983 before we had cell phones. In 1983 we still had the 55 mph speed limit and there are many more cars on the roads than there were then - and the accident rate still dropped - not by a little but by a lot.

If cell phones are really so dangerous, why don't the accident statistics bear it out? Perhaps they're not really that dangerous after all. Perhaps they even keep people awake on long stretches of lonely highway.

Well, sounds terrific. It seems to me that mobile phones have negative influence on all parts of our body.

Everything is hazardous! Run away and live in a cave! Just make sure it's not the kind of cave that gives off low level radiation. And be careful not to get bitten by any of the other residents.

Actually we already have a more foolproof way of frying our brains. It's called TV.
