what I find interesting is Neo (a Canadian) neg's this story about a Mexican raising a Mexican flag over a US one (on US soil)...then gives us the "Middleman rule warning" (which is CONSTANTLY bronken by liberal posters (reported by me several times) and yet, AMAZINGLY (can you feel the sarcasm?) nothing is ever said or done about THAT.
Then, to boot, he never even comments. Guess he is too busy with his endless neg'ing of the story and comments he cant comment.

the no middleman rule is broken by all kinds of people, of all political persuasions, nationalities, religions, races, sexual orientations, right handers, leftys, and yes, even conservatives. to imply that liberals do it any more than any1 else is most likely inacurate, certainly prejudiced, and definately SPIN.

Thanks, Ranch. These people who think they can come to this country, and make up their own laws have to be shown the way back home. If you are not born in America, or are Naturalized you have no special rights. Check the laws on flying a foreign flag before you do anything stupid.

Fortunately those that laid the foundations of the future United States had a broader view than you. The Declaration of Independence says "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights".
It should be clear that since people's rights are endowed them by their Creator and since all people have a Creator (not just Americans) then all people have rights, not just Americans.
It's passing strange that the broad and composite world view that those men had in 1776 has now shriveled to such an extent that a claim that unless you are an American citizen you have no rights is applauded.

On another note The Declaration of Independence includes a listing of the grievances the colonists had with England, grievances so irreconcilable as to provoke the revolution.
To quote again from the Declaration, one of those listed grievances is
"transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences"
So in 1776 opposition to extraordinary rendition was so heartfelt it was listed as one of the causes of the American Revolution. Clearly the present administration takes a much less American view of "transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences".
Passing strange indeed.

You people did the same thing to the Native that were here before you, so turn about is fair play don't you think? Oh as far as flying others country's flags, wasn't the Confederacy another country? Hell,their flag is constantly waved around and I don't see a vast amounts of Americans complaining about that. Why is that?

This is a great story. Glad that Annie found that link for us, glad that I got to see it! Great submission Ranch and I really have to agree with the sentiment that this guy showed. I don't think it was bigoted at all, he was a vet and I bet he hated seeing that flag flying higher then the US flag. While it could of been done better, in a more legal manner, I still say that the sentiment was great. I encourage the showing of pride for where one came from, but not before where you are now. Even if it is in a symbolic sense.

Put it above the American flag and you can go live in the country you love. Don't like it don't care. I fought for this country and you don't raise any flag over ours. You know how many people died for the freedoms we have. You want to disrespect our flag and country get out of it.
I'll bet the Mexicans who flew that flag don't know the laws. Hope they go to prison for it. Then get the crap kicked out them in there.
God bless the vet who cut the flag down. When I see the clowns waving flags of other countries I just want to kick their as*es back to country whose flag they wave. Why the hell did they come here if they love Mexico so much?

I had friends die for this country's freedom. I fought for this country and love it. I'm not conservative, I consider myself a moderate.
I'm all for freedom of speech. But you don't disrespect my country by flying another countries flag over ours. You want to do that I'm gonna take the flag down and raise ours.
You want to fly another countries flag above ours move there. I have no problem with loving where you are from. But we are Americans and as such owe our allegiance to America. Not Mexico, Africa, England, Scotland, Germany, Japan... You see what I'm saying. If one feels so strongly about the other country by all means go back.

Who said anything about political leanings? People from all political leanings are saying the same thing: No Foreign flags flown above the U.S. Flag on U.S. Soil. It's federal law. Too bad the local police didn't enforce the law. Their inaction is what made it necessary.
