"A secret grand jury has returned an indictment against Lam Luong, the man accused of of throwing his four children off of the Dauphin Island Bridge.

Luong has been indicted on 5 counts of capital murder. One count for each of the four children, and a fifth count for the children collectively.

Police say the 37-year-old Luong threw his four children off the bridge in January. After a two-week-long search, the bodies of 4-month-old Danny, 1-year-old Lindsey, 2-year-old Hannah, and 3-year-old Danny were all recovered."

So horrible and tragic! Those poor babies. : (

That is so tragic....its bad enough to when a complete stranger does something as horrible as this but when its a member of the family whom these children trusted its just horrible.

I really haven't followed this very closely

Does anyone really know why he did something so horrible??

I read one story which stated "Police said Luong confessed to killing the children as an act of revenge against his wife, 23-year-old Kieu Phan."

In another story "Lam Luong, 37, is accused of throwing his four young children off the Dauphin Island bridge on Jan. 7. Family members said that the Irvington shrimp worker had been using crack for months, becoming increasing unstable."

Did anything come out during the trial?

Thank you!

That is so sad. I can't even imagine how the mother makes it through the day

"Lam Luong would disappear for days with the family's minivan, returning to an Irvington house only to collapse into sleep, seemingly numb to any children's cries, his brother-in-law said recently.

"He'd come in and pass out," said Kam, who has been outspoken about Luong's drug problems.

Family members have described Luong as a hardworking father who descended into crack cocaine abuse in the months leading up to Jan. 7 - the morning when police say Luong threw his four children from the Dauphin Island bridge.

Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran said Luong is suspected of buying drugs in the Bayou La Batre area and in places north of the town but that is only part of the ongoing investigation.

"There's thousands of crack addicts out there that haven't thrown their kids off a bridge," Cochran said. "It's been my experience that drugs are usually involved in some of these more bizarre crimes, but there are other things that come into play."

I think there must be a special place in hell for people who deliberately murder children. At least, I hope so.

I FULLY concur...I also believe that no what happens to them in prison...they deserve it all!!!

Maybe they will Dahmer his ass in jail. (To clarify that, maybe they will do to him what was done to dahmer. Not what dahmer did cause that's just gross. And you're sick for thinking about it.)

Parental love should be a given, children should never need to live in fear of a parent. This was so tragic, it makes me sad that people like this are blessed with these precious little angels.

He was a crack addict, the devils drug.

Yes! Crack IS the devil.

He was obviously flawed to begin with, crack just speeded up the process.

Crack is the worst because it makes an addict with one dose. That is why they created such large penalties against that crime. Supreme court knocked it down so the pushers are getting out soon. We can expect to see more of this.

Anyone doing something like this needs to be kept alive very sober so he has to face himself and what he has done as long as possible. Death is too easy.

Unfortunately that won't work. People have the ability to escape ANY situation, even life in prison. They "escape" into their own mind.

Also, there are MANY drugs in our prison system, probably as much or more than there are on the streets. That's one of the reasons there are repeat offenders, life in prison is a breeze, especially once they get that "institutionalized mentality".

Endo, I agree with your response. Want to know something troubling?...do a search on the internet about long term effects of crack babies. You will get a bunch of results that says it is a myth. Talk to any inner city teacher, psychologist, social worker, or juvenile judge, and you will get a different story.

It takes a very sick person to harm a child!

I have to agree with the already good comments above!

Thanks Alpha Lady, I was wondering what had happened to Luong!

A Chinese national who moved over here with his family, to New Zealand , murdered his wife and stuffed her body in the trunk of their car parked at their house. He then flew to Australia with their two year old daughter and abandoned her at a train station. He went to the airport and boarded a plane to LAX . Authorities in the US are trying to track him down. I hope they catch the bugger!!

They reckon the wife had an affair. He was 57 and the wife was 28 years old.

I can't make any sense of how grown ups can do anything horrible to the innocent.
