FTA:
Jamie Leigh Jones, now 22, says that after she was raped by multiple men at a KBR camp in the Green Zone, the company put her under guard in a shipping container with a bed and warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she'd be out of a job.

Would be interesting to find out whether it is a systematic procedure written by (someone??) to hand over the evidence to the accused company.

At the risk of being attacked by the wimmins lib brigade (but who cares?), a war zone is no place for a woman, despite the pride hard faced wimmin in comfortable shoes and limp wristed PC men now feel about how hard they fought for the right of putting girls in harms way.
I'm not saying she deserved it. no way did she and if it is true, then every man present, whether they took part in it or just were too chicken to stop it, they should all be killed.
but a war zone is no place to send a woman, period.
If my view makes me a sexist dinosaur, then i am proud to be a sexist dinosaur who still thinks that it is a mans role to protect women and part of that role is to stand up and say "no, women should not be there!!".
When i hear that a soldier has been killed, it upsets me. When i hear a female has been harmed, it not only upsets me, it makes me mad at a government and wimmins lib movement which got them to be there
Hate me for caring if you wish. But i say, FU. I wont stop

...within the supposedly safe green zone... where the Repugs have only taken state department folks who pledge to the Bush... and you get about one third of the qualified people needed...
We had nurses in Vietnam too... What about the first West Pointer of the class of 2002 killed in Iraq, a female medical service corps lieutenant by a roadside bomb? What crap from you INdo!
Women are weak, secondary and we men have to rule over them, protect them, and not let them vote either - what un-american hogshit! This is what your thought process results in!

Vile--the act, the cover-up, which blends misogyny, an outrageous and particularly primitive example of male-"entitlement" protection, and political ass-covering.
Does anyone require further evidence that in the minds of the current administration, our country's interests and those of Halliburton are one?

Damnlib, those 15 plus meetinge convened on Mondays in the basement of the Congress by Democrats had all kinds of testimony on KBR feeding bad food, KBR filing false charges against the government and all those contractor drivers killed who were told they wouldn't be in harm's way. A women who threatened to break KBR false claims against the government testified she was put in a shipping conatiner too until shipped back to the US. Testimony included the GS-14 who went on vacation to find on her return that a lieutenant colonel working for her approved Halliburton to charge more than double to haul fuel from Kuwait into Iraq - the GS-14, was fired. Then the families of the drivers killed needlessly in Iraq were told they can't sue KBR or Halliburton since they have US contracts. Also brought out was that every case of reported fraud and a buse was stonewalled in the Gonzo justice department. It was all on CSPAN, if you really cared to watch. Too much not believe this women.

The evidence actually shows Halliburton's (and all those associated with these group) interests are way above the country's and all other people's interests.

I'm surprised propeller-libs are so upset. After all, they support countries whose radical culture prescribes stoning and death of rape victims not to mention their favorite ex-president being a serial sexual molestor and accused rapist.

winmor,
Why do you see everything in black and white? Condemning the actions of the Bush administration in no way indicates an approval of Saddam's regime. Speaking out against crimes committed by Americans does not mean that one condones crimes or atrocities committed by others.

nobody supports that except the lunatic muslim fringe, who are not following their own religion's teachings.
"their favorite ex-president being a serial sexual molestor and accused rapist."
accusations pulled out of thin air- Clinton's sleazy, but not that sleazy. Any evidence to back up this claim?

Seriously get a grip on reality. Saudi Arabia is W's pal. I don't know of any libs who think Saudi Arabia is a swell place to live. Yes Bill does hit on women but as far as a serial molester no. And there are plenty of neocon bloggers out there who will accuse Bill of anything but they have less credibility than the National Enquirer. Here is how they lie to you. Someone like Rove calls a blogger of ill repute and tells them a lie off record. The blog then runs the story crediting an unnamed whitehouse source. Then a conservative radio show takes the handoff and says "from so and so's blog." Then the faux news channel picks up and quotes the story citing the radio show as the source. Then the liar who started the whole story attacks the dem citing the faux news channel. It is called truth laundering and the neocraps are masters of it. So when you say Clinton is an accused rapist, find the real source.

winmor: Another hate rant. Man you don't get it. So what is your take on the whole thing. Bill Clinton did it? Man you need help. This is about an American woman being raped and held hostage afterward. Under the auspecies of Halliburton's supposed power to protect itself and employees from criminal charges and financial responsibility. Is that clear enough for you? Can you understand this is not about the Democrats now? Pull your head out of limp paws as* and look at what happened. Rape and unlawful incarceration and detainment. Clearly against American law. Why don't you show some of that venom to the abusers instead of the abused?

winmor, can't you take off your right wing blinders long enough to see that a terrible crime has been committed against a American by Americans and it appears that the perpetrators are being protected by their employer. This is a crime and outrage but it should not be viewed as an opportunity for you to spout your narrow-minded political banter. You should be ashamed to be so callous.

Diametrically opposed lie. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I wish I could say that I find this unbelievable, but I don't. However, leave it to the good folks at ABC News to dig this up and try to find justice for this poor woman.

How much lower can we go? I can't understand why the guys at the top wouldn't want every single one of the attackers brought up on charges. Don't any of them have wives, sisters, daughters?
This isn't the first story like this out of the war. There was a story several months ago about the female soldiers being raped by the male soldiers at night when they would need to use the facilities. The women would die of de-hydration rather than chance leaving their shelters at night. One of the commentors said something close to ---that's what you get when you put women with men in this situation.

I remember that statement and it made me sick. As if the act of war wasn't traumatic enough, the women had to endure this. I shouldn't be surprised but I am. I guess it's because I though no one could sink that low. Silly me.
As for the upper echelon having daughters, they don't worry about that, or anything but cya (covering your a ss) they will ignore anything else.

Because money talks and bullsh&t walks! How much you wanna bet payoffs were involved? Halliburton should be "Helliburton" because it is an evil entity, through and through!
Since this woman is caucasian, I'm sure her accusations will carry more credadibility in some circles, so I hope that will translate into justice for her and convictions for those who deserve it. Wishful thinking, I guess...
