Oh Rush Windbag...I live in CONservative country and have point blank asked many real (not phoney) Republicans if they think we should leave Iraq...all but one told me yes. And even the guy that told me NO, said they need to set a timeline for withdrawl.

What abuse of pain pills. Every pill he took was prescribed by doctors in a single office. They all had access to his medical records. Libs ignore this LITTLE fact in their rants.

My apologies, I should have read down further and would have had my question answered.
Just last week, I was introduced to a great bloke who is stationed here in Japan (his name is Will and is a technician in the Airforce), we shared a beer and chatted. He is off to Iraq pretty soon. He's 24, educated, from a loving family and considers himself a patriot. He said he has reservations about going as he is not really 100% sure what he is fighting for.
He was a quiet, softly spoken, thoughtful man- A phony, he definitely was not. I can't help but feel he is not the exception to the rule as this Rush chap would have you believe.

What makes you think I am a fan of Rush? I am not. But that does not mean I think just bashing and saying hateful things about someone because you don't agree with him is a good thing to do. You rads seem to think that is the only way to discuss things at times. Look up and down the thread and count the reasoned arguments versus the bashing arguments.
You calling him a hate-pundit is what I am talking about. If you were talking about Savage on the Savage Nation I would agree. He thinks Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity are liberals. You should hear what he calls liberals. He is a hate-pundit.
I have listened to Rush and a lot of other conservative talk show hosts. Rush and others that remain successful do not spout hate. People saying that have not listened to any of them for any length of time. They for the most part talk about how they think about various topics. The left seems to thing that that is hate speech. Jerry Springer did the same when he was on where I live. I miss him. While I disagreed whit much of what he said I do not classify espousing liberal ideas with hate. Most people on this thread seem to think anyone promoting conservative ideas is doing hate speech.

Your ignorance is appalling. "conglomeratization of radio" where did you get this nutty idea. We live in a free society where people have businesses to make money. Broadcasters are all doing what they think will bring in more advertising dollars. The higher the ratings the higher the amount they can charge for advertisements. Ratings rule. The only exception are those who are subsidized somehow. PBS for example.
No competition?? You seem to forget the debacle that the liberals started. Air America was supposed to have a lot of liberal talk show hosts that were going to wipe out the conservative talk show hosts. Jerry Springer was one of these. Air America received startup money and was supposed to bring in lots of money like the conservatives do. They pushed their people on the air. The ratings were low and steadily fell. Jerry Springer was one of a few who had at least mediocre ratings. I haven't heard anything about Air America for a while.
