Aug. 11, 2006, 1:47 p.m.I too forgot to pay a parking ticket in Washington D.C. When I got around to it, the D.C. police weren't as forgiving. I had to pay a penalty on top of the fine. Couldn't they have just framed my check instead of cashing it?

Aug. 12, 2006, 7:09 a.m.If we disregard the statute of limitation, then $1 at, say, 8% p.a. at compound interest in 60 years, would be worth about $101. Mr. Fogarty was lucky.

Aug. 15, 2006, 8:59 p.m.I am just wondering how many of us forgot to return those library books? Started looking in the basement boxes yet?? LOL
Good for the gentleman to pay his ticket (late is better than never)and show his respect for the law! Hey, it beats dead beat parents regarding child support, those multiple bankrupts, and those that break copyright laws and download music and DVD's daily!
Way to go!
Peace Out!
