Hello folks, First, allow me to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and concerns. I am having surgery on September 19 to remove my thyroid and lymph nodes. The prognosis looks very good for a complete recovery. I am optimistic and am seeking the most aggressive treatment possible for my thyroid cancer. Again, thank you all for your continued support. As always, happy reading, David

David, I know how you feel. My wife had her thyroid removed and just had her dose of radioactive iodine 2 days ago. She is doing well. It is definitely life changing, but the treatments and operation have a high success rate. I hope that all goes well for you.

Best of luck with that ... no wait. Luck shouldn't have that much to do with it. Better still, work hard to make SURE you have the best doctors available to you. Then luck won't enter into it. I also know how it feels to have a perspective altering event in your life. In my case, not me, but my wife. Now, whenever I think about doing this, or that, I stop to consider whether I would later regret not spending the time with her. Just a little breast cancer, and treatment is good, prognosis good - but it DOES alter your perception of how to best arrange your time every day. I would also tell you to follow her procedure: Don't mope around whining about "Why me?" - take charge of yourself and your treatment and ask "What's to be done next, and how soon can we do it." Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
